L'Imposteur Maple Delight

Author: Carle Geoffroy

Story behind this cocktail

January 30, back from work, big day, more snow and the driveway needs a good scrape . We hurry to dinner, and I'm still not in the mood to clear the driveway. Unless... I take out my bottle of L'Imposteur rye and make up a drink to get the extra motivation and relax afterwards. In the end, it was a very good idea, but I couldn't resist to take another neat glass to appreciate all the qualities of this exceptional rye. Perfect drink to discover this rye and encourage the team of L'Imposteur in their adventure.

  • 2 oz of L'Imposteur Rye Bourbon
  • 1/3 oz of fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz of your uncle, you buddy or local producer's maple syrup
  • ice
  • 1 slice of orange

Pour the rye and maple syrup into a glass.

Add the lemon juice.

Stir, no time to waste with the shaker, we're outside, in the fishing shack or relaxing at the sugar shack or at the cottage.

Add ice if available.

Garnish the glass with a slice of orange to impress the group.

Bonus: Squeeze a bit of orange juice in your drink. Enhances and improves the desired and appreciated "sour" note.

Repeat the previous steps until there is no more bourbon left in your bottle.
